Re-add leader grab points for dimensions

Re-add leader grab points for dimensions

In Creo Parametric 2, the grab points for dimension leaders, extension lines, and elbows were removed.

This requires the user to right click and select flip text to move the shoulder position.  If one wants to remove the shoulder, the user has to set the detail option, in each drawing, default_dim_elbows to "no" and then go into properties and select a different display style for every dimension.  Unfortunately, this also breaks the diameter dimensions and the user must manually set all of those as well.  So, what we used to do before in one click takes at least 2 and up to 10 in Creo P2.  </sarcasm> Wow, what a great enhancement to productivity! </sarcasm>

PTC tech support says that this is the way it is supposed to work and will not acknowledge that this is a bug.  >_<

PTC, please bring back the grab points on dimensions so we can get back to the productivity we had in pre Creo products.

Another similar idea:

The way to move notes and dimension should be the same

I made a similar comment / post / product idea a while ago.  I also noted that the 'move text' switch needs a third option, to flip the dim text to the center, not just left & right..

Holding the shift key will allow you to change the length of the leader, change sides and place in the middle by dragging the dimension.

Surprising that the PTC tech didn't know that.  Still, though, now we have to use the Shift key where before we just moved the text.  It's just another example of the new Creo mantra: more clicks, less productivity.

I agree it is now harder with the loss of the drag handle.

As of Creo 3, we are not seeing the diameter dimension issue anymore. However, the loss of the grab handles continues to cause users to struggle and lose productivity when trying to move dimensions. Consider a vertical linear dimension. If a user wants to center the text, eliminating the elbow: In pre-Creo versions, the user would simply select the dimension, see the grab handles and move the text to the desired position. In Creo, the user has to select the dimension, somehow know to hold down shift, hover the cursor over the dimension till it turns into a double horizontal arrow, and finally grab the dimension itself and drag it to the middle. The latter is not intuitive or obvious.
