In creo , we unable to take datum feature from parametrically prepared 3D model to 2D drawing.

Or we are unable to select planes/ Centerlines As datum feature in drawing mode.

 

will anyone help how could we annotate a plane / centerline as a datum in drawing?

I tried multiple times to create datum on plane / centerlines. But its not possibly done.

Rather than that on surfaces its creating datums which is not good (because surfaces having drafts/tooling operations)

 

As Creo is parametric software it should have this kind of flexibility to generate datums on mid plane/ planes/ centerlines to annotate the drawing with minimal dimensions

I think you may want to brush up on ASME 14.5. PTC works to standards. DFS need to be tied to a dimension which defines the centerline. PTC works to specs and this is how it is defined in the spec.
