Removal of Curves

Removal of Curves

Allow a curve to be completely removed (i.e. similar to the "remove" command for surfaces with "leave open" option checked).

Background

Model size in parts and view sizes in drawings are dependent on geometry such as curves.  If a curve is created in the part or pulled in from a copy geometry feature and exists completely outside of the desired model envelope the curve will undesirably drive accuracy, view size, etc.  A trim can be used on curves that pass through the desired model envelope but it cannot completely remove a curve when the curve lies outside the desired model bounding size.  This tool exists for surfaces, it should be extended to include curves as well.

Workaround

Create a mirror of the curve geometry about a reference that places the mirror into the desired model bounds and use the "hide original geometry" option.  Then the mirrored curve can be trimmed to within the model bounds as desired.  It works, but is a cumbersome workaround.

I was just about to propose this same idea.

Fortunately someone have already saw the need for this.

Not only for curves, but also for points, axis, planes. etc. A single click in a model tree "copy geometry" or "merge", or "imported" should also allow us to quickly remove all the datums without even having to click in individual datums.

We should insert this feature down in the model tree, when we no longer need to reference the copied or inserted geometry.
