Replacing a component by a subassembly with that component should automatically reroute references

I would like to be able to replace a component in an assembly with an assembly that includes that component and have all the references update to the same references on the component.  I need this functionality because we put many parts in kits.  Sometimes the kit numbers need to show on the Creo Parametric drawing.  If I am creating a new kit subassembly, I can use Move to new subassembly to easily create a subassembly from the component and add the additional part for the kit.  Sometimes, someone else makes the kit so then I need I need to use replace to change out the component with the subassembly.  In this case, I need to manually reroute all the references from the component to the component as it exists in the subassembly.  Creo should be smart enough to know that the same part is being used in the subassembly and remap all references to it.

Neat idea.  I would propose a minor ammendment: Have Creo search for the existence of the same part and ask you if you want to use those same references.  Many people may be upset if it just went ahead and picked the old references.

Agreed.  Was thinking there could be a rule in the evaluation rules when editing the reference map when replacing by unrelated component that could be either enabled or disabled...
