Request to turn off or delete component interfaces in a part without causing placement failures

We have some library parts that have been around for 20 years; some of those with component interfaces. As we transition our practices to ensure proper cad structure matches our eBOMs, the usage of these parts have changed. Instead of being used within a product level structure, there is now an extra assembly level they report to. Which means, the component interfaces are no longer needed as they are the first component in the new assembly. However, we are now stuck with the component interface. We cannot disable the 'default' capability of the interface, since there is only one. If we delete the component interface, all previous placements from our legacy assemblies fail, even if the references are still all fine. Therefore, we request either:

1 - The capability to make a single interface turned 'off' (not default) and/or

2 - Placement constraints don't fail when interfaces disappear (when all of the references are still valid).

Thanks!
