Upon creating a Structure in Creo & AFX, it is often required to arrange the structure in sub assemblies. Though AFX has a functionality of defining Weldment Groups, the Process is often cumbersome and error prone and it does not give desired BOM. If components of assembly are restructured using normal "Restructure" functionality, the reference groups created during placements of AFX components could not be restructured ( Core Functionality of CREO / ProE does not allow features created in assembly to be restructured or to be moved to a subassembly). thus restructuring AFX components without their corresponding reference groups would often result in circular references and regeneration failures.
Enhancing the core functionality to enable restructuring of feature groups is must for the optimal performance of AFX.
