With version 19.0, we have the ability to display an image on a workplane. But if you are trying to trace over an image, sometimes it isn't easy to tell whether you have all of the 2D geometry created or not. The ability to toggle the image on/off would help. Currently what you have to do is to delete it and then re-add it.
Also, there are times when you go to select a 2D element, but Creo Elements/Direct Modeling selects the entire workplane instead. I believe that this is because it sees the image first instead of the 2D element. I can change my pre-select focus, but it would be easier to just toggle the image on/off instead.
