Single operation to produce a shrink wrapped STEP file

Single operation to produce a shrink wrapped STEP file

We regularly send STEP files of our products out to customers and want to send only the external skin data. Suppressing the internal components does most of the job, but we still need to then create a shrink wrap and then open this to create the STEP file from.

What's the chance of getting a single command or option within File\Save As\(STEP file) that takes the outer surfaces of the assembly and creates a STEP file using only these surfaces? It would save a huge number of hours and Mb of disk space.

Cheers.

Currently we export STEP to another Core CAD system to do so and we automatically fill all the gaps before creating this solid block. It would be fine to find such a "shrinkwrap" feature in Creo Parametic by default. Creo normally can not calculate the overlapping solids.
