The UI, formatting options and terms used in TEXT dialogue box in Creo Parametric SKETCH mode and the TEXT STYLE dialogue box in DRAWING mode should be standardized.
For example, ASPECT RATIO in Sketcher and WIDTH FACTOR in Drawing should be the same thing.
However, when using True Type Fonts (TTFs), WIDTH FACTOR cannot be changed and is blocked out from use (ASPECT RATIO still works in Sketcher).
Moreover, if you superimpose the outlined TTF text created in a PART sketch over the filled TTF text created in DRAWING, you will see that there is a mismatch in the letter widths and spacing, even though the text content and text style was set to be the same.
Ultimately, the text drawn out by Creo Parametric should be in the same shape, proportion and spacing as all other software (eg: MS Office, Adobe Illustrator, etc) for all TTFs for the same text style.
This standardization will allow the accurate modelling of product text labels in Creo Parametric sketches to precisely evaluate artwork location and fit without having to make the text into flat surfaces or extrusions. This is to avoid ballooning the size of the 3D part. The product text labels can then be inserted as On Item Notes (attached to datum points drawn into the positioners for the SKETCHER text) in the 2D drawings for formal specification (with the 3D sketch of the text hidden).
