Staying logged into PTC Community for 7 days

Allow being logged into the PTC Community website for up to 7 days.

When the switch to Lithium based PTC Community occured, the ability to be logged into the website for one week was lost. Log in on every Monday. Now logins are occuring multiple times per day with out having closed the website tab.

Dale,

I think that your requested is not "realizable". This is because login to community.ptc.com is tied to login to support.ptc.com.

They were able to do it when it was on the Jive based PTC Community.

Jive login was independent on support.ptc.com login. Lithium login is dependent on support.ptc.com login.

I have ranted about it in another thread but it fits better here:

I am not sure if it would not be able to stay logged in for a longer time.

But there are two different timeouts.

1) When I have a forum page open in a tab, after some time of inactivity (at least after an hour, maybe shorter) when I reload the page (it doen't update automatically) to see if something new was posted, it looks liek i am logged out and I have to press login. I don't have to enter my login data, though. Either this is stored in a cookie (at least I have seen my login name = mail address in at least two different PTC cookies) or the forum asks ptc.com. At ptc.dot I am still logged in.

2) After a longer period of time (not sure how long but shorter than a working day) you are logged out completely and have to reenter your login data. This could either be that the cookie storing my password has expired or that after that time period I am automatically logged out from ptc.com, too.

I constantly run into the first of the two and thats truly annoying because usually when you relaod a page you find yourself at exact the same position on the page as before, but not when I have to relogin (even though its just a click without the need to enter anything). I find my self at the top of the page, see the unneccessary "New solutions" section and have to scroll down to the overview where I find the infornmation about new post in the subsections.

Furthermore I sure don't like cookies to store my complete login data!

Thats sure all not as it should be!
