I recently encountered a problem while creating artwork for product labels in Arabic.
I received a Microsoft Word document with the Arabic text. The text appears correctly when opening the Word file. The text also appears correctly when copying and pasting into any of the text editors in Creo Elements Direct, whether it's in the modeling environment (Text to Profile), in Annotation, or Drafting. When I hit the Ok button to apply the text, the text reverses direction and the characters change to something else.
The only solution I currently have is to create a PDF of the Word document and then use 3rd part software to create a DXF file and import into Creo Elements Direct. This result gives me a rough outline of the geometry that can only be scaled via Modify Scale command. The text is not filled as it is the Word document or easily re-sizeable.
I think that Creo Elements Direct should be able to properly process all fonts, characters, and languages in any of the text editing environments. At the very least it should be able to replicate what Microsoft Word can do. It’s funny that Creo Elements Direct is Microsoft compliant with the Fluent UI, but not with the part that matters most like being able to create.
