Surface Region functionality outside of Simulate (in part modelling mode)

Surface Region functionality outside of Simulate (in part modelling mode)

Implement the ability to use Surface Regions (already available in Simulate) in part modelling mode.

This would allow for creating surface regions that can be colored separately which would be extremely useful for showing paint/prime/masking locations on surfaces.

The surface regions should be able to be shown/hidden via Simplified Reps or similar.

Its not exactly the same functionality, but designated areas allow you to do some of what you are looking for.

Pro/MESH was available as a separate license/feature in part mode that could do this (we owned it a long time ago).  I believe Pro/MESH is no longer a module you can purchase for part mode though.  You'd have to ask PTC if it's available still or not.

@Chris3 , thanks! Designated Areas is a good alternate for now, although the PVZ/STEP export shows a merge of the base color & quilt color (since it just inserts a quilt in the same place as the existing surface) which isn't ideal.
