Text on profile

Text on profile

In preparing for labels for plants normally the "text on profile" function is used, and this is then milled in either the plate or embossed on the surface.

Due to the lack of preview in the "text on profile" because the text can not be changed afterwards, would be two alternatives here.

Option 1: Create 3D text and place it on the surface of the shield

Advantage: easy creation and changeability

Disadvantage: No way to derive 2D

Option 2: document level put on the billboard and create 3D text in this document level

Advantage: Easy changeability, 2D derivation possible

Disadvantage: creating something more complex, document level must be checked separately in the tree list, so the text is visible on the 3D model

- Possibility to store the visibility of the document level in the owners (the default setting as for 3D object requirements - coordinate system)?

- Ability to project 3D texts on work planes to then impart to the surface in 2D + derive?

If for example it is a way to create 3D text from a profile, this would probably be using a LISP dialogue for the user easy to implement.

In the variant document level, we have only the obstacle that the shield in 3D always looks empty because the text needs to be displayed always manually. Therefore, it would be interesting to know if there is a way to permanently display the document level (either the owner or saved as a permanent setting in the site / user directory).

With scaling

Fit the text by means of scale in the area always means that the text looks very different, there will be no single typeface.

To edit texts by individual letters may be erased and re-inserted, is improper because the widths of the characters are different and therefore the gaps have to be adjusted for large documents, or the change can quickly degenerate into massive job.
