To implement in Creo 4 IDX version output to be 3.5 to increases ECAD and MCAD

To implement in Creo 4 IDX version output to be 3.5 to increases ECAD and MCAD

Currently in Creo 4 and even in Creo 6 the output version for IDX is 3.0.

In our organization we are loosing mainly feature that enable :

Rigid/Flex Support
Bend Area/Bend Line

The standards for IDX from ECAD-MCAD org improves and promote  to have 3.5 version to : have higher level of quality and includes features like:

Without the 3.5 IDX version we are loosing a lot of advantage for the ECAD - MCAD collaboration.

Hope this could be implemented soon

Kind Regards,

It seems Creo currently supports some object in IDX 3.5 on creo side,

for example,

About the comparing IDX 3.5 vs. IDF 3.0, please access the following link for detail:

Hi all,

I think the comparison is a little bit misleading, as it compares IDX 3.5 with IDF 3.0. IDF 3.0 is an over 20 year old specification. IDF itself has some short comings in the collaboration, which was one of the reason for Prostep / PTC and Mentor to develop the new IDX format.  Now, the difference between IDX 3.5 and IDX 3.0 is rather smalls (at least from an end-user perspective): IDX 3.0 already supports almost all of the mentioned features of IDX 3.5 in above table (not sure about cooper support).

Best,

Ruediger

P.S. Most ECAD application I am aware of support IDX 3.0.

Hi @mmartinez ,

As I answered in a different post, supporting newer IDX versions does not mean supporting everything they have to offer.

We will support IDX 4.5 import and export in the near future but full support of Rigid-Flex is a large project that I am looking to do as soon as we will have the needed infrastructure in place. It's a high priority project for us.
