It should be possible to define parts as virtual parts in a Creo assembly, meaning that the definition of the parts is managed and stored within the assembly file (.ASM) itself instead of an external part file (.PRT)
This is very usefull when working with large weldment assembles and there is no requirement to manage the individual parts in terms of Windchill, separate drawings, revision etc.
This feature currently exist in Solidworks (together with other features such as multibody parts, weldment assy. etc.)
