Following the appeal C10785070
We bought workstations DELL Precision T5500 with processor Intel Xeon 2.4Ghz RAM 12Go Windows 7 64bit
I use Creo WF5 M120
I'm just disappointed that with a good machine it does not earn much time on regeneration.
It would be while the software may use all the possibilities of the computer.
It will probably mean a major rewrite, but all software developers need to start looking at ways of using multiple processor cores effectively - processor speeds are reaching a physical limit, which is why we are now seeing 8-, 12- or even 16-core CPUs.
For a start, perhaps multiple Pro/E windows could run in separate threads (or regeneration could run in a separate thread to the main UI) so that you can work on a different part while one is regenerating. Same with exporting to shrinkwrap or STEP, etc, or importing data.
