Want to create custom symbol palette in CREO Parametric

Want to create custom symbol palette in CREO Parametric

For 3D standard notes, we need the ability to add custom, variable symbols into the flat screen display of notes.

For this to happen, we would like the ability to create our own custom symbol palette thru Pro/Toolkit.  Right now, our only alternative is that the notes that we create are totally graphic - the entire note is a symbol.  This causes complications with moving and swapping notes.

Please update the 3D model note functionality to support "in-line" references of existing detail symbol definitions.  This enhancement should support the use of the &sum (<symdef-name>) notation that is currently available with drawing notes.

In drawing notes, an instance of &sym (<symdef-name>) will display the symbol named "symdef-name" in the body of the note.  The note text to the left and right of &sym() is properly spaced to accomodate the symbol graphics.  If the symbol graphics height is greater than that of the note font, the spacing of the current note line is adjusted to prevent overlap.

This functionality works very well in 2D drawings and has been implemented in Pro/Engineer since version 20 (1998) or earlier.  Having consistent functionalty between the 2D and 3D models will encourage greater use of 3D notes.
