When modifying a component in an assembly context, I RMB, Activate the component. If I then click the Show Datum Planes icon, for example, all the datum planes throughout the whole assembly, that are not on a hidden layer, show up. It would be more convenient if only the datum features within the Activated part were shown.
Ideally, this behaviour would be controlled using a config option, so that external datum references could be selected when using Top-Down Design, for example.
This should apply to all kinds of datum features, including Points, Axes, CSYS and any others you can think of.
If this is already the case in CP2, I promise I am working on the upgrade!
Still on WF4, here, M220, where is not the case, as far as I know.
Please vote up if you think it would help.
Yes, I do know about controlling datum features using rule-based layers.
This would just make things easier and therefore better.
In summary, then, the idea is:
Add a Config Option to switch the Datum Features that are shown in an assembly when a component is Activated.
Set to 1 to show only the datum features in the Activated component.
Set to 0 to show all the datum features throughout the assembly.
