When using the measure tool don't hide the result underneath the measure dialog

Many times when the measurement tool is used it places the result under the open dialog. This makes the user wonder if they were successful and repeat the measurement.

This is true, happens all the time, really irritating.

@ToddKraft,  (@olivierlp)

Does the status need to be changed?  Based on the picture from @jussikoo this doesn't seem to be  'current functionality', at least not in 8.0.3.0.

Status changed to: No Plans to Implement

Hi all,

I apologize for the confusion on this by my status setting.  I've changed it to 'no plans to implement' for now.  I speaking with R&D about this, it isn't something we can fix currently since the Creo graphics window and the measure UI dialog are different windows.  We don't have a way to resolve the overlap.  I will continue to ask development for this in the future as I agree this is an annoying user experience when the UI_note is overlapped with the measure dialog window.

Hi,

Not completely happy with PTC response as in this case graphics window is not the one overlapping. Instead measurement dialog is hiding it's results.

Can they make the results window in front of the the measure dialog window?  Or allow us to give it a "permanent" location to pop up at in the window?  The measurement dialog window always opens in the same place.

@ToddKraft,

Creo certainly knows the size and position of the measurement pop-up window (since it's creating it), and it certainly knows the size and location of the measured value's dimension box (since it's drawing it on the screw), so why can't it use these known values to position both in a way that they won't overlap?
