Hello, When creating a datum feature in a part in Creo 4.0 : the annotation can be edited via the "Format" ribbon : Why when we show the same annotation in a 2D drawing, we cannot access the "Format" ribbon anymore?? Its not logical because for others annotations created in 3D like : - GTOL - ref positioning   if we show them again in 2D, Format Ribbon is available ...   Can you please improve Creo so he can have the same behavior for all annotations features? It is not possible to reference a user-defined symbol with an offset, e.g. to a dimension or something else, because the placement option "Offset" is not available.   If I move e.g. a dimension, the already placed symbol remains. (see attachment examble.png) ... View more

Currently it is not possible to show sketcher based ordinate dimension on 3D level using Show Model Annoations (it can only be shown in drawing level) - See example attached. PTC is not planning to fix this as it is regarded as standard/intended functionality (PTC CS152204 / SPR 2856507/2203317) This is also a frustrating limitation when trying to apply other annotations to the 3D model, for example a GTOL on an ordinate dimension. You have to re-create the dimension (driving) and then only you can apply the GTOL on an ordinate dimension in 3D OR use linear dimensions, which are not always practical. ... View more

The functionality "make default" for combined states was only specified for the Creo View adapter usage but not for the view manager (see article: CS187463 ). A part or assembly file in Creo Parametric always opens in "default all" combined state. That means, that this will be the combined state that is active, when a worker is processing the file. Currently there is no chance to define a combined state that will be directly active when the file will be opened.   If you have defined different combined states that uses different appearance states, it is not possible to export all of them to STEP for example because the STEP interface currently can only handle one color set. Therefore the active appearance state will be exported. For MBD/MBE purposes it would be very helpful to be able to define a combined state as the "user"-default which will be active when opening the file. In that case it would be possible to automatically generate the correct appearance when a Windchill worker is processing the file for example.   There might be some other reasons why this would be helpful - please feel free to add some in the comments area 😉 ... The model DTL file has a setting called "default_tolerance_mode".  This setting controls the tolerance mode for both created annotation dimensions and the feature dimensions (the sketch dims, driving dims).  For MBD it would be helpful to be able to control the tolerance mode independently for feature dimensions and annotation dimensions.  Maybe a new DTL option called "default_annotation_tolerance_mode" that would apply to created annotations while the existing setting  "default_tolerance_mode" would then apply to just feature dimensions.   The reason behind this is that for MBD created annotations are used almost exclusively and it would be desirable to have the created annotations have a tolerance by default while the feature dimension would not have a tolerance.   ... Now it is possible to set the Dimension Boundaries for existing dimensions (selected or All), but for new features the Dim Boudaries is set to Nominal again. This is confusing and results in errors.   A Config Option to set a default would solve this problem. ... View more

Creo 5.0 Drawing Datum Feature Symbol should check to see if a Model Datum Feature Symbol already exists. Scenario: - A datum was created in the model and shown in the drawing.  It could be old style "set datum" or a Datum Feature Symbol created in the model. - If you create a drawing Datum Feature Symbol, it does NOT check for duplicity in the model.  You could have two datum A's showing in the drawing on two different objects. - This renders datum name check very ineffective. BTW...It seems that the industry BKM is to create all Datum Features Symbols in the model, but I have two comments regarding that... 1. Then you have to show or create Model Annotations if you want to attach the Datum Feature Symbol to a dimension.  This is more steps. 2. According to PTC support Creo does not allow to display 2D representations of datum coordinate systems to conform to ISO 5459. Creo does not mark the CS origin of coordinate systems with one axis normal to the sheet/screen with extensions of the axes and a circle. For ISO conformance it is also necessary to be able to rename the axes (X1, X2, ...) (section 7.9 in the standard). It should also be possible to place the CS tag (possibly via show/hide annotations). The Creo (3D) coordinate systems already looks very similar to the 3D representation of datum coordinate systems in ISO 5459. In Creo 7, there is a way to set a cad model to check the GD&T syntax based on specific standards of the model, like ASME Y14.5-2009 or 2018. The default for pre-Creo 7 models are 2009. However, our company has been following the 2018 standard. It would be nice if there was a way/config to set which standards all files need to follow (whether legacy or not).  ... View more

Currently when you have a model (with flat to screen annotations) exported in STEP AP242, the flat to screen annotation isn't correctly saved. Indeed when you the STEP AP242 the annotation can move with the part so this no longer a " flat to screen " annotation. For Dimensions, there are two placement options for GTOL's: "dimension elbow" as well as "on dim" (below dimension).   For notes, there is no such “on dim” (below dimension) placement. Currently, only “elbow” placement exists. "elbow" switches the leader type to underneath the note and runs it the width of the note to attach the GTOL to the end. Currently the only way to add a GTOL to the bottom of a note. To force this, the GTOL needs to be placed separately and referenced inside of the note using &g## (for model based GTOL's) and &dg## (for drawing based GTOL's).   Please add a "on note" placement option that acts like the "on dim" placement option.  ... It would be good if we are able to visualize different combine states in single window, which will help to understand the different dimensions of single feature as well as gives better understanding of component. That would be ideal when we are using 3d drawing. Other wise we have to go again with 2d drawings, which give all the views and dimensions in single sheet. Same will be applicable for taking print outs of the combine states. If we are not able to take printout in single sheet then we have to waste bunch of papers even a small components. ... View more

Drawing of dimensions and limit deviations" http://docs.cntd.ru/document/1200086238<https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%... 4.3 reference dimensions are indicated by the sign "*", and in the technical requirements write: "* Dimensions for reference". If all dimensions are reference, do not mark the asterisk "*", and in the technical requirements write:"dimensions for reference".   In Russian localization for Creo Parametric all references dimension display text "ПРИВЯЗКА" instead "REF" in English version. So, no need extra effort and change a logic of a software to meet russian standards. Need to change localization text "ПРИВЯЗКА" to "*". ... View more

Add the ability to format (colors, dimensions, font ecc...) and customize (add symbols and descriptions...) notes related to Creo Product Insight Sensors.
