Creo Parametric Ideas

When you startup Creo you get the Resource Browser (PTC - Creo Parametric - Start) page by default. This page may be helpful for new users or those wanting to keep up to date on information from PTC and it provides links to tutorials and other information such as Liveworx.   (https://www.ptc.com/community/creo4/parametric/)   However, we are on still on Creo Parametric 4.0. When you click the Getting started link (which even in text says "Tutorials for new users of Creo 4.0". The link goes to the latest help center. Which is now Creo 5.0.   This is confusing for our users and already got a support request from one asking that we fix it. If you go to the Creo 3 page: https://www.ptc.com/community/creo3/parametric/ it says tutorials for Creo 4.0 and links to the Creo 5.0 help center.   All I'm asking is that the older versions of the page be updated to point to the correct help center (https://support.ptc.com/help/archive/creo40/creo_pma/usascii/). This is a site hosted by PTC so other than turning it off (set hidden config.pro option enable_resource_browser_tab to no) and making our own there isn't much we can do with this until we're on the latest, which probably won't happen anytime soon.   I already tried filing a case (14748802) which was promptly closed explaining "This is working as expected". This is NOT working as expected. This is PTC defaulting to the latest hoping everyone is on the latest.   Why have separate URL's if you're just going to show all the same information? Please restore text bold weight/thickness control to the Creo/ProE font.ndx for individual text lines or headings.  Currently font.ndx cannot be made bold in any visible/appreciable way.  If we bold any font.ndx text (using CTRL+B) the level of line thickness is so close to the default that it cannot even be visually differentiated on a B-size pdf of that dwg.  This bold feature is basically useless for the .ndx font!    In addition the format painter no longer works for individual text lines, regardless of the font type you are using.  Please fix the format painter to work with individual lines of text, and between separators (e.g. @@ , {0:} ).    I actually very much like the new on-screen WYSIWYG text editing but some of the previous functionality which has been broken really needs fixing.    (As a side note, we would really like to switch to a TTF or OTF font, but that is not something we can do without serious testing, planning, and approval because of the implementation problems that arise and need addressing) ... As you know Creo has got a very useful tab that named annotate on 3d environment. We can print our models with format but it's very hard to set the .frm file via pdf output.  If we can see format file on screen dynamically it can be more useful. you think- we are working on annotate tab and we will be able to see our format file on screen simultaneously and we will be able to change it. ... To create a measure of separation, the only option is to make it between 2 points. This is much more restricted than measuring in Creo Analysis Measure, where you can measure between any datum points, planes, axes, coordinate systems, solid geometry, and surface geometry. You can include an unplaced component that may be useful if you want better remember it's present within the BOM or to make the manufactiring for windchill automatically. But you cannot convert an already inserted component into an unplaced one; you have to delete it and reinsert it as unplaced one. ... View more
