"Recent Files" should include those opened from WindChill

"Recent Files" should include those opened from WindChill

We have a common use-case scenario:

  1. Search for a part in WindChill from within the Creo browser or search pane
  2. Open model from WindChill into Creo
  3. Start Modifying the model and Checkout from Creo
  4. Work on it all day
  5. Come back the next day and it is not in the Recent Files list!

According to PTC, the current functionality for Recent Files does not include those opened from WindChill. This seems more like an oversight than 'not functionality'. Anyway, my only hope now is that this product idea helps convince them to accommodate for this common use-case scenario.

I also queried PTC about this, but they refuse to see it as a bug: Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback on article CS212560. Customer Feedback Comment:It shouldn't matter if this is not part of the Windchill functionality. Creo should remember which models were opened regardless of where they were initially selected, since they all end up in the Workspace anyway. I do not believe that this resolution is correct; it doesn't make sense logically. We at PTC Technical Support have reviewed the feedback that was submitted for Knowledge Base Article CS212560. At this time, our product does not support this feature and the information contained in this article is accurate.
