tables to act like spread sheet after double click

tables to act like spread sheet after double click

It would be nice to double click on a table and for it to switch to an "Edit Mode".  It should have all similar functionality of any basic spread sheet, but the icons and formating tools are shown surrounding the table.  Column/Row size should be dragable or editable via character/number size.  Character formatting by icon, tool or right click context.  Control of repeat region and pagination could be additional drag functionality.  Insertion and deletion of row or column could be a right click option (dependant on selection).  This should interface should replace all table types: including family table, hole tables, pattern tables, actually everything.  A common interface being the idea.

This is the best idea. PTC should do this now.

SolidWorks allows this.  It has two modes.  One mode is for simple edits and the user get an excel-esque enviornment right in the CAD program.  The other mode puts the user right into excel which allows for more extensive edits to be done.  This adds productivity to the user and should be done.

All 3 of these Product ideas are similar and each should be voted for to increase chance of implementation:

(clicking link does not work so you need to copy/paste into browser address bar)

It would also be nice if the entire table size could be scaled bigger or smaller (text boundaries and all).

Very good idea,

I would like to add that reordering of rows and columns should be possible via drag & drop

AND:

Dont forget to vote for fixing the insertion of links:

None of those links in Lawrence Scheeler's post work bur what looks to me like the very same links in Frieder Muellers post are good.  Another example of PTC messing up the simple stuff.
