unhide last set, or unhide everything that I hid

unhide last set, or unhide everything that I hid

In an assembly, I hid a couple of covers and components that were in my way by highlighting the components in the graphics window, right-click, Hide. I assembled some components and created a section view.

PRODUCT IDEA:  The ability to unhide "Last set" or "Everything I hid".

  • I don't want to Unhide All, because there are other components that other people hid and saved layer status, so they intentionally do not want those components to show.
  • I don't want to save and close the assembly, erase not displayed and reopen the assembly for the components to unhide because it is a fairly big assembly and I still need to work on other areas of the assembly.
  • The components I hid are deep in the bowels of the model tree and I don't know where they are.
  • I did not pay attention to the names of the components that I hid when I hid them.

You can RMB on Layer tree and select "Reset Status". This puts the display back to the last save status state.

I used NX previously and the hide/show functionnality was so easy to use. It was not linked with the layers, you simply could hide things manually through keyboard shortcut (easily configurable keyboard shortcuts!) or RMB and then you could switch between the hidden and visible set of parts to go unhide what you wanted.
