WEBCAST Q&A

Question from John:  Can your tool do a pre-analysis to recommend geometry simplifications in order to have faster solve times or better results or superfluous geometry for the simulation?

Answer:  Use Creo Simulate Live to do the pre-analysis and get to very fast results to determine if you want to defeature.

Question from John:  Are the results generated locally or can you use a cloud solve?

Answer:  They are generated locally, and the is no cloud option today.

WEBCAST Q&A

Question from Kevin:  How many CPU cores can it use (got it 4, does this require another license?  How many core is Creo Simulation limited to?

Answer:  Creo Ansys Simulate is limited to 4 cores - no additional license required.  Creo Simulate is unlimited.  For Creo Simulate, use the config.pro command:  "MEC_NUM_THREADS" to set the number of cores.

Question from Kevin:  What is the recommended method for defeaturing the Creo model for simulation?

Answer:  The goal for these solutions is to not need to defeature the models.  However, if you need to, you have all the Creo CAD capabilities for doing the defeaturing.

Question from Kevin:  Does CAS support beam elements and mathematical representation for screws?

Answer:  Bolted connections are on the roadmap, and not currently available.

WEBCAST Q&A

Question from Pratik:  Can we import a load file for multiple point loads?  If yes, what would the file format be?

Answer:  Not currently

WEBCAST Q&A

Question from Robert:  Will Creo Ansys be able to support other hyper-elastic models besides Neo-hookean?  Mooney-Rivlin, Yeoh, Ogden Models?

Answer:  Not currently

Question from Robert:   If you have to defeature will Creo Ansys remember the defeatured geometry?  i.e. If you suppress in the initial simulation, what happens when the parts are unsuppressed later and then go back to re-run the simulation?

Answer:  Use simplified Representations for creating the ability to quickly switch between those 2 states.
