Answer:  It is an excellent practice!

Answer:  Not a specific feature for this.  Could create User Defined feature and use that going forward to create this style of geometry.

Answer:  Yes, using the weld feature.

Question from SharonOn performance improvement, I thought I read in order to get the benefit, requires complete regeneration and save.  If this is true, what does full regeneration mean?

Answer:  Using "Tools"/Model Player you can reset the regeneration of the model to the beginning, and then regenerate from there.

Question from SharonSketched form - looking for a way to taper only selected wall of the form.

Answer:  Do a Quilt form and then manipulate the individual surface with Flexible Modeling.
