WEBCAST Q&A

Question from Anonymous:  Can the published geometry be used for cabling/harnessing?

Answer:  Absolutely!  Creating robust skeleton models with publish and copy geometry features is a great tool for managing model performance.  Especially when working with routed systems.

WEBCAST Q&A

Question from Lori:  In "simplified rep", is there a way to add a smart item balloon to the component shown in the "rep"?

Answer:  In reference to Ballooning in a 2D Drawing, when in a drawing you can choose to create a view that will show only the simplified rep.  With that you would need to create a table that only sees the simplified rep.  The BOM balloons will reference the table.  This article will help:

Question from Paul:  How does this handle with the source geometry is replaced with new CAD models?

Answer:  The best way to handle this is to use the replace functionality native to Creo.  In doing so, you can create reference pairs that will keep the copy geometry features intact.
