Add the ability to make duplicates of all items in wiring diagrams similar to Paste Shape that allow components and wires (with the same reference designators) to be on multiple sheets. An alternative would be to have the ability to have multiple designs that are tied to a master where the connections and reference IDs are verified between the designs.
We use hybrid designs.
Our designs have two main user sets: design and support, and harness manufacturing.
- For design and support, we want the full system including multiple harnesses and the components that are attached to the harnesses. We frequently have a design that is used with minor variations (addition of options) for several products.
- For harness manufacturing, we want only the information of an individual harness in the system without the attached components. It would be useful to be able to rearrange the connectors and ports to be more useful to the harness manufacturers.
