Current situation: After importing an FBX-file in Creo Illustrate 5.1, the complete hierarchy of the original file is lost / reduced to the first level. The same FBX-file was also imported to Autodesk Maya. Here the structure in the outliner is correct.

I know myself and my colleagues would be very interested in this capability being added as well.  We would use this process to bring in optimized models to speed up our production effort which is slowed by the large gatherings and top models we have. The FBX gives us the right solution, but losing the heirarchy and part numbers makes it an unusable solution in its current state. 

For Ref, we're in Illustrate 8 now and still produces the same results as the OP in their earlier version of it.
