Enable Creo View to load the related branch links of assemblies and parts residing in the group from a "double click" action on the name in the Groups area.
There would be value if Creo View could Autoload Branch Links(Not Models) of Assemblies and Parts from a Static Group in Creo View. Creo View currently has intelligence to autoload branch links and models for Annotation sets or simpilfied reps. This functionality is missing for Static Groups.
According to the developers there is a risk for loading assemblies residing in the group due to risk of loading all models associated to a very large assembly which we don't want. However, there is extreme value to loading the branch links in the tree to enable the following key functions:
- Search on attributes
- Bill of Material Generation
- Color Coding
- Finding Simplfied reps of those loaded assemblies in the viewables tab.
Please vote for this idea. Groups are really useless in large assembly structures as currently designed unless you know exaclty which items in the tree you loaded to create the group. Imagine having over 100,000 objects or more in the model tree...
