Issue - Preferences for users in Creo View have highest priority from the user_prefs.xml file over the admin_prefs.xml and server_prefs.xml file. An Admin can force a setting into the users session using the "lock" functionality, however the user is unable to toggle a locked setting in session. In our specific use case, we just started publishing Datum Planes into our Creo View files and the user's working with these files in Creo Parametric have datum planes display on by default. We want to enable this same workflow in Creo View of showing datum planes when loading the assembly.
Workaround - The workaround from PTC is to remove/delete the user_prefs.xml file which is not desirable because we want the user to keep personal preferences.
Requested idea - Add ability for Admins to push out preferences after user has toggled setting and updating the user_prefs.xml file while at the same time enabling the user to toggle the preference if desired. My idea is to improve the functionality of the "locked" setting in the XML file by adding another setting called "Locked-Toggled" (reference picture below). But any other documented solution that PTC provides will be acceptable.
