Have all the file handling processes recognize when Windchill is attached and change their actions appropriately.

When a new file is created, Schematics creates an unpacked design in the “Saving design location:” as if Windchill is not attached. This file is completely useless to the user since it will never be updated. If a design is abandoned without saving any work (appropriate), it stays. If a design is saved, a packed file is automatically saved in the default Windchill workspace (no choice allowed) and the unpacked file is left with none of the changes. Either way, this file is completely useless unless you need a placeholder with a name.
When a new file is being created with Windchill attached, it would help if it Schematics defaulted to putting it in the Windchill workspace but also allowed it to be placed in other workspaces or outside of Windchill. It would also be useful if a default (when saving outside of Windchill) could be set for the file to be in an unpacked design directory or a packed file.
If designs could be created in the Windchill workspace, File Save can then save the file in the same location and type as it opened it from.

When the Save a Copy command is used on a file that is in the Windchill Workspace, the copy cannot be placed into the workspace. It will default to an unpacked design with the same name saved on the desktop. It would help to have the same behavior as the File Save command but with the option to change the name (required if it will be in a Windchill workspace), save location, and type of file. The present system forces the user to open the saved copy outside of Windchill and save it (no choice) into the Windchill workspace.

Instead of having separate Open and Open from Windchill menu items, have one Open command that can open a file from anywhere. It should also be able to default to displaying either packed or unpacked designs.

The present handling of files leave "trash" behind.
These are files that it creates that are never used or become instantly out of date.
When a new design is created, an unpacked design is created outside of Windchill that is never updated. If Windchill is not attached, this is the design that will be updated when a save is done.
If a packed design is created from a design in Windchill, you cannot get the copy back into Windchill without opening it outside of Windchill and then saving it. That process also creates an unpacked design that is never updated and leaves the packed file that can never be updated.
