Whenever multiple users are trying to edit a markup, Windchill locks the markup to the first user that opens it up. Currently there is no way for end users to find out who has it locked. (Even the content panel in Windchill does not show who has it locked under the "locked by" column as this is more of a soft lock from just opening up the markup)
It would be nice if the dialogue that shows "Markup object "123.drw" is locked by another user" would instead show "Markup object "123.drw" is locked by username". This way users can contact each other directly instead of submitting work orders to local support.
It would also be good if Creo View indicated a lock icon and the ability to unlock from a dropdown/menu button for the user who has it locked. And if the user unlocks and its locked by another, Creo View should grey out Markup functionality with an indicator that the file is locked by another user. What happens is users creates a bunch of markups and tries to save just to realize they can not, and since they currently don't know who has it locked, they just exit and lose all their work.
