Calling a dll in C

I have an existing toolkit dll that was written in C. I want to revise this toolkit DLL to call a DLL that was written in Visual Basic. This Visual Basic DLL intracts with Microsoft access databases. I'm looking for documentation on how to do something like this. The MSDN documentation only talks about calling DLLs in visual basic or Java, anything but C.
