EXT : Email Addresses

Now - what is going on here?

Yesterday, because of Michael's email I tried a "reply all" and saw that
both all of the individual addresses and the proecad addy was there. Now
today that doesn't happen. I am seeing what Doug is saying. Something
changed.

I added Proecad to the CC field so that y'all can try this.

I am crazy, but I am also SURE that the proecad address was there when I hit
reply all just yesterday - and now it doesn't. How can that be?

Any thoughts on this? Anyone else seeing the same?

-Nate

Hi Nate,

I can confirm the behaviour you're seeing.

Previously, "reply all" would include the list (and all other copied participants).

Now I've had to add proecad manually, otherwise it would just have gone to the three of you.

Jonathan

Yeah, I noticed that it strips the list address when replying to all. Not cool.

Someone from PTCUser want to comment here please?

This list has long been far more useful when used via email; the web interface is very poor. Why then are we crippling the email functionality? What is the plan here?

Perhaps you should try it again on another email from this list, with
another subject.

I noticed that earlier in this thread the email was sent with a Copy to
the mailing list. That may be the reason why the list address is not
included in the reply.

Current behaviour of my (web) mail client on this message is that
reply-all sends to the list only, and not to Doug. (Which I believe is
also incorrect because there was a reply-to field to Doug. Oh well, at
least it sends to the list).

Best regards,
Patrick Asselman

I hit reply all here and it only put your address in, not the list's. I tried on the new thread just after from Norman and got the same result, only his address, not the list.

Past behavior was that a replay all got, well, a reply to all, any individual address it was sent to plus the list itself.

There has clearly been a change in configuration, but zero communication as to why. It may be a simple software upgrade happened and some settings got inadvertently changed, it may be a change in policy, we don’t know.

I hit reply all in Thunderbird and it appears to be going to lists & Doug

Thanks
Greg

Perhaps this is an email client issue?

My email client (I'd hate to say it, but it's Lotus Notes ....) still does a reply to all when I do a Reply to All
In this case Doug in the To field and the list in the Cc field.

Oddly, this one works as expected.

I’m using Outlook 2010 and have been for several years. It worked the same (reply all get the list too) for years up until this week, and now with this message it’s working fine again.

I’m in Outlook 2010 also but I only got Doug and Olaf on my reply to all. I had to add proecad.

It’s obviously some different setting with regards to PTCUser but it may affect different email clients in different ways. Otherwise so many users wouldn’t be “suddenly” noticing it.

I contacted Dan, at PTCUser yesterday, they are looking into the problem.

Interesting as the Reply all doesn’t work for me and I am on Outlook 2010 as well.

This was a manual paste of the Prouser.
