Fractional format in hole note

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows how (or if it's possible) to make hole note
parameters appear as fractions instead of decimal format. Changing the
number of decimal places is easily done by using the square bracket
notation [.#] where # is the number of decimal places you wish to be
shown. For example if the drill depth is 0.500 inches then to only show
two decimal places the note syntax would be &DRILL_DEPTH[.2] and would
then show 0.50 for the depth. I don't want to change the tolerance of the
parameter just how it appears on the note.

Fractional format in hole note

Hi Mark,

As far as I know, Pro/E can not do either of these, no matter what you do in
the custom hole note.

All diameters are going to display as decimals, you can not get an automatic
"#10", etc.
While your company/vendors might not like it, decimal callouts are permitted
in Y14.5M, so a #10 can be called out as .190.
Otherwise you have to manually edit the text and lose the functionality.

There is no way to automatically control decimal places in the hole note,
they must be manually edited as you have shown.

In my opinion, hole callouts are a fundamental feature that has unnecessary
shortcomings that are not getting enough priority, although I've heard for
years that holes are going to change in "the next rev".

Mark,

Select the dimension on the model that you want to show as a fraction,
RMB, Properties, on the Properties Tab change the format from Deciaml to
Fractional.
Edit your note on the drawing (Select the note, RMB and choose Edit
Value).
Change your hole note parameter (i.e., &diameter) to the actual hole
dimension name (i.e. &d50)
Now this value in your hole note will show up as a Fraction, it will
even show tolerances if you have them.
