How to Identify Harness Parts...

Hi,

How do I identify through Toolkit, if a part in assembly is Harness
part?
ProMdlSubtyp does not contain anything like PROMDLSTYPE_PART_HARNESS.

Himanshu,

When you are visiting the components(parts) of your assembly don't
filter them by mdl type or subtype. Call ProFeatureTypeGet (a part is a
feature of an assembly). Specifically look for features of type
PRO_FEAT_SUBHARNESS. If that doesn't work then additionally call
ProFeatureSubtypeGet and see what that text returns on those parts.
You can also get this data from the model tree columns Feature Type and
Feature SubType.

Patrick,

I have added the model tree columns as you have mentioned here. But I am it still says only component in the column for feature type. What could be the problem?

The first part is the actual harness part and in the column it says component. I need to know if it would be possible to know if this part is a harness part

Considering this original post is +10 years old, I'm sure you've seen this by now... but a function "ProCablingIsHarness" has since been added to Pro/TOOLKIT which will determine this.
