Toolkit: Combined State On Drawing

Good morning,

does anybody know if it's possible to create or modify a drawing view that displays a "combined state"? I am onlyable to find the functions for displaying a simprep or explode state in a drw view.

Thanks.

Andreas

Andreas -

Can you tell us which version of Creo you are using? As far as I know,
Pro/Toolkit support for combined states begins on Creo 2.

I couldn't find anything in the Creo 2 Pro/Toolkit documents. You may
want to open a support case with PTC on this question.

I suspect that combined states can only be used with parts and assemblies.
Even though Pro/Toolkit has functions named ProMdlCombStateCreate() and
ProMdlCombstatesGet(), though functions accept arguments of type ProSolid,
not ProMdl. I hope for your sake that I'm wrong about that.

Hi all,

Another question related to combined states in drawings.

Sadly, it looks like there is no API function to get the drawing view's combined state info...

Short of querying drawing view for ProMdl, simprep name, exploded state and view transformation and matching this data with model stored data and making an educated guess it looks like there are no other choices.

As a workaround, does anybody knows how to get output of a drawing view listing similar to the Pro/E UI command 'Drawing View - Display Information on the selected view'. The Pro/E command generated file indeed shows combined state info:

New Bitmap Image.png

Macro could be written, I guess, but it is not the best approach because Pro/E 'Find' utility cannot be used to select a drawing view and without it one would have to use either a selection buffer or interactive selection which is problematic with synchronous app...

TIA.

Feliks.
