I have found in Wildfire 3 and 2 that if I go up or down the tree of a part sometimes the model will move and/or zoom out, oftentimes way off the screen and I have to refit it. This is very annoying when I am trying to observe a particular part of the geometry and how it changes when a feature is resumed. Why has this not been fixed? Surely the position in space of the model should be determined by the user and not by the program. Also I am still crashing from time to time with the old "Exception - code was -1073741819" explanation. Why hasn't PTC fixed this? This has been an ongoing problem for multiple releases of ProE, way back to release 20 and earlier.

Wait a minute! You get exception codes? For me whenever Pro E crashes, all I get is an instant view of my desktop wallpaper!

I've never gotten the exception code, but I get the other two problems quite a bit. I'd take having to refit and reorder over crashing anyday, but I agree that it's annoying.

It's interesting how the PTC people haven't responded, when they often do.... Perhaps someone can tell me how I log a request for changes in future releases.

Under SUPPORT, log an enhancement request. Good luck. I believe I currently have 6 pending that I've never heard a peep about.

Hi Grahame, You can work around the inserting of item after suppressed features pretty easy: 1) Drag "Insert Here" indicator before the last not-suppressed feature, the draft in your picture. 2) Create a dummy datum (point, axis, plane), not really important what, you just need to be able to make it easy and fast. 3) Cancel the resolve mode. 4) Reorder draft before the datum you just created 5) Drag "Insert Here" indicator before the datum and create features you want. They will go into the proper place. 6) Delete the dummy datum when not needed.

Here's another issue. See the attached jpeg. I've gone clip/suppress at feature 32. Copy 4 and Solidify 9 are then suppressed and my red arrow is immediately after. Then I make a new feature, Solidify 10. It comes after the suppressed features! I want it after Solidify 8 because I have inserted Solidify 10 specifically to ensure that Solidify 9 works. Why doesn't it keep the red arrow after the last resumed feature? This seems the logical place to keep it. When I go to clip/suppress it's often because I need to insert a new feature at that point to make the failed feature work. (For example a surface merge might fail because the surfaces have moved further apart and I need to extend one or both to get them to overlap again.) If this wasn't annoying enough, I cannot simply drag the new feature up before the two suppressed features. I have to drag it before the last resumed feature, Solidify 8, then drag Solidify 8 before Solidify 10. An extra mouse click. In this case Solidify 10 is not dependent on Solidify 8 so I can drag it before. But if the feature is dependent I cannot drag it before, so I have to make a default coord sys or some other easy feature, drag that into place before S8, drag S8 before the coord sys, then drag S10 between the coord sys and S8. This is incredibly infuriating and it seems to me, utterly illogical and unnecessary. Ok, so you want the red arrow to go after the suppressed features, that I can maybe understand you might want as a default. But why can't I just drag my new feature into place before the suppressed features? That makes no sense to me and I was hoping that maybe it was taken care of in WF4. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks for that Igor, but that sounds like a variation on what I already do. The key word for me in your reply is "workaround". After 12 years on ProE I know all the workarounds. I guess I was just venting about having to do it at all. I just want to drag that little bloody arrow to where I want it to go and for a 20K piece of software that seems a reasonable ask.
