jlink- xp 64bit compatibility

Hi Everybody,

I'm testing wildfire 2.0- 64 bit version on a xp-64.

Seems like the jlink asynchronous applications have a tough time to get
launched,

I adjusted a couple of environment paths and got the jvm running, but
still have some hiccups..

Do I need to recompile all the app's using a 64bit ide (is there one??)
I use jbuilder on a 32-bit.

Please advice. Thanks in advance.

Arvin

I have used the same class/jar files on 64bit unix and 32 bit windows with no problems.
You shouldn't need to recompile your java code.

NO .. you do need teh 64-bit version of Java on the target machine.

Running JLink Apps (Synchronous or Asynchronous):
32bit ProE requires 32bit JVM
64bit ProE requires 64bit JVM

Be sure to set CLASSPATH environment variable or use ADD_JAVA_CLASS_PATH
config.pro option (synchronous apps only) to point to your class/jar files.
Probably best to use PTC provided JVM for starters.

In addition, for asynchronous apps, be sure to set PRO_COMM_MSG_EXE,
and add pfcasync.jar to CLASSPATH. Might need to add ARCH/lib (i.e.
c:\ptc\wf2\x86e_win64\lib) to your PATH.

Compiling JLink Apps:
You can compile your code with a 32bit or a 64bit JDK. It doesn't matter.

What problems are you having?

Marc
