CORRECTION! SUMMARY:How to locate the origin of text note by x,y coordinates?
DO NOT DO THIS STEP: . --Carefully select the center hot button as it is the origin of the text
. Pro/E does not actually select the origin of the text, but it selects a "free screen point", be it ever so close to the actual origin, so my moves were not precise! . Instead when prompted: . "Select a point from the selected item(s) to perform move special on." (AND the "Select 1 item" dialogue box comes up) . Just hit the Middle Mouse Button without selecting anything . --Then the "Move Special" dialogue box comes up AND the origin is highlighted in WHITE as Pro/E explicity selected the origin . . . . CORRECTED procedure I used: --Set text to center justification (Properties->Text Style-> "Center" and "Middle" . --Select text (it highlights with three "hot" buttons . --Edit->Move Special ("special" in Pro/E, ordinary in any other CAD system) . --Press Middle Mouse Button without selecting anything when prompted: "Select a point from the selected item(s) to perform move special on." . --Then the "Move Special" dialogue box pops up (and the true origin is hi-lited in white) . --The X,Y coordinates shown appear to be absolute location of the origin of the text(with respect to drawing 0,0,) . --Enter new absolute X,Y coordinates and the text origin dynamically moves to the precise location specified .
