Draft Datum Target Question

Draft Datum Target Question

Good afternoon everyone. I think I have an easy question for some of you. As for me.....it's driving me insane. The picture I attached shows my problem. How do I make the Draft Datum Target balloon adjust to the text in the top half of the balloon? This is the symbol that came with Pro-E. But I just can't seem to make my diameter dimension fit inside. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In your drawing.dtl file, there are two settings for balloons.

min_balloon_radius
max_balloon_radius

Adjust these to your liking.

As I recall, these have no effect on datum targets. I'm on WF2 as well
and found no way to have the datum target adjust with the text inside
last time I checked, which was admittedly a long time ago.

I am on WF2 and adjusting the to files in the dtl file does nothing for
this problem. The text inside a datum target fluctuates with the balloon
with no solution that we have found that will break that bond. We have
several datum targets that the text is outside the balloon. If anyone
knows how to make the text stays the drawing text size while the balloon
size can be changed please share that important information!

This question has been asked before. I remember one answer saying the
"text height" to "balloon diameter" ratio was defined in some drafting
standard, that PTC follows. Changing the text height will also scale the
balloon.
Conclusion: Not everything described in a standard works well in real
life.

Try setting in your DTL
min_balloon_radius .000
max_balloon_radius .000
I always thought this made the balloon adjust to whatever text you use.
Thanks

Hi

this post is very old but now I have the same problem with CREO 2.

Using Draft Datum / Draft Datum Target / Box

The baloon created for Datum Point visualization is small for text.

The drawing options

min_baloon_radius and max_baloon_radius set to ZERO

don't work .

Any idea ?

Thanks a lot

Pier
