How to know width of text letter?

Hi folks,

We can get the height of the letter but how to measure width of letter?

one more question is always letter will take one side reference only, IS ther any facility to measure dimension from any edge?

There are two ways to know this:

1) Create the feature and then measure the result. You can use this to make any measure you like.

1a) Create individual UDFs for the letters so you know the measurement ahead of time. This is how typesetting worked to produce books and newspapers for the last 500 years or so. Not easy, but dependable.

2) If you have access to the font definition, scale the character width based on the font height and width ratio.

2a) Create a font definition so that you know the width.

Pro/E or Creo are not easy tools for text.
