How to show a hidden part in drawing

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to show a hidden part in the drawing?

This might be a centreline or different representation.

The most important part is - I don't want to use Display Style - Hidden.

Thank you

Arek

Re: How to show a hidden part in drawing

Hi,

see attached data created in CR2.

  • xd.drw has 2 models assigned ... xa.asm and x1.prt
  • there are 2 views created ... one for xa.asm and one for x1.prt
  • views overlap ... using origin coordinates for placing coordinate system

You could add a second model with the two parts assembled and reference that. Just set your drawing model back to the main model before you exit.

Hi @Dale_Rosema ,

Sorry mate, I don't understand what you've said.

Can you record a video or put some screenshots of how to do this?

Regards,

Arek

Re: How to show a hidden part in drawing

Change the view to show hidden lines.

Select the view, rmb properties, view display, display style set to Hidden

Good catch. I didn't see that.

Re: How to show a hidden part in drawing

Hi @StephenWilliams

I don't want to use hidden lines.

I want to show only the second part to be visible.

In the result of activating hidden lines, I will get all hidden lines visible.

That's not the solution.

Re: How to show a hidden part in drawing

Would it work to show a view from the underside? Then that part would be visible, but you will "hide" part of the other part "beneath" the part now shown if you do not use hidden lines.

Re: How to show a hidden part in drawing

Go to the layout tab, select component display, in the view you want to show the part in, select the part, then OK in the menu, then select phantom opaque, then done.

Re: How to show a hidden part in drawing

Hi @StephenWilliams

Thank you for another method.

Unfortunately, it is not working.

My steps:

Layout Tab

Component Display

Menu Manager - Style - Picked View

Select component of assembly - Selected from the Model Tree

Menu Manager - Phantom Opaque

OK

the result:

Choose the component in the view you want so show as phantom.

Re: How to show a hidden part in drawing

Hi @StephenWilliams

the right instruction should be:

- Choose the component in the view ( click on the view then RMB click as many times as you need to select the right component, then click LMB to accept the component, then .... etc.

Your instruction is not enough to understand the steps:

''Choose the component in the view you want so show as phantom.''

In the future, I will remember how NOT to respond to your requests for me taking time to volunteer my time to help you.

Hi @StephenWilliams

First of all, we are helping each other to understand better Creo.

If you have a problem with it - stop it.

If you want to do it - do it properly to be understandable.

Secondly, please use ( Hi @....., and Regards) - that looks more professional and kind.

Use care when editing posts. You changed the original post after my response. Now my response looks like I was suggesting for you to use hidden lines looks like I didn't read your post and responded inappropriately.

When editing posts, please note that you added the "EDIT" instead of making other users who are simply volunteering their time to help you with your problem look like they didn't read the original post.
