Pro Gurus:

Thank you all for your quick responses.

Depending of surfaces, there are couples of method to use here. For a flat
surface Cosmetic skecth, Xhatch is used. For cylindrical surface a wrap or
projected pattern curve can be used. Coloring the surfaces is an excellent
way to convey your intend; however, it can't be done on an engineering
drawing.

I try #Insert, #Cosmetic, #Sketch, #Regular Sec, #Xhatch, #Select the sketch
plane, #Select the largest circle as reference, start drawing 45deg lines
and dimensions spacing between lines etc. This is very cumbersome and times
consuming as there are too many dimensions and lines to draw on a large
circles. Am I doing this right? I can't find options to pick the border as
one user suggest below. Am I missing something?

Shaded views are available in WF5, so you can create surfaces and shade them in
drawings to indicate your masking. In our case we create these additional
surfaces to specify areas of different textures. It you do not print in color or
not sure if the vendor or person getting the drawing has color printing you can
color the surfaces in shades of gray.
