Using ProductView Express as embedded viewer

Using ProductView Express as embedded viewer

To all programmers,

We want to use the ProductView Express OCX in our own Windows Application (programmed in VB.Net) to view our ProductView files.

So we downloaded the latest version (ProductView Express 9.1, M061 build 27) and dropped the "pview Control" (AxpviewLib.Axpview) into our application.

So far, the OCX seems useless as we can't load any *.ed or *.pvz.

How can we use the ProductView Express in our own VB.Net application?

Any help is appreciated!

Lots of views, but no replies 😞

Is anyone using the PV Express as an embedded viewer?

Anyone from PTC around to comment on this issue?

Almost 250 views...0 replies...PTC staff nowhere in sight...

It seems like embedding ProductView Express is not possible (please prove me wrong!!!)

I guess I will have to launch PVE as an "external" program

Bump...

As ProductView is also capable of viewing DXF files, having ProductView embedded in our VB.Net Application is even more appealing...

Anyone?

Hello!

Probably that it will manage to be carried out in version Creo Elements/View Professional. You can issue request about full version Creo Elements/View and in the same place in the form of request ask your question:

Hi VladimirN.

I downloaded the latest version Creo Elements/View 10.0 and tried the new OCX.

Guess what? It works! I can now load a PVZ into our embedded ProductView!

I do have to monitor the perfomance, but it's looking good so far.

Now there's only one thing left: hiding the panels (thus activating the Only View Window (Ctrl+F8))

Thanks,

Teun

Anyway, it is possible to create a new case in technical support service:
