importing of pcb in creo assembly

Hi,

I am facing a problem in importing pcb from allegro..

my problem

I am able to import the pcb from allegro in term of .emn & .emp files

the dimension of pcb is in mm but the assemble made in inches

so when I try to scale the pcb to 25.4 times, It won't go thorought

Is there any way that I can assemble the pcb in the assembly made in inches

Try opening the import file with a metric template. There is a "use template" option when you open the assembly.

Hi,

when I open .emn file there is no option for use template as

this is not a assembly exactly it become assemble later

first it is a file for importing but when it was imported it becomes

a imported assembly and i have to assemble this imported assemble in the

another assemble which is made in inches.

I suppose I need to see the screen to know how your files are imported. It would be weird to not have this option if it is not written into the original file.

There is another way but it will be very painful if there are a lot of parts... you can change the units and you get the option to convert the geometry or just the values. This is one way to scale the parts, but I think you have to do this for every part. On a highly populated PCB, this would be problem. I suspect it would take a "toolkit" user to help automate such a process. That certainly isn't me.

Have you posed the question to tech support?

What version parametric are you using?

Can you post the files for us to play with?

me using creo 1.0

yes it is a highly populated pcb

do we have toolkit manual or tutorial to learn automation

sorry I can post as it is from supplier

regards
