PDF Print Location

We are using the Arbortext Publishing Engine. Right now, every person has to browse the file system to find the folder where the PDF needs to be saved. Is there a way to set up a default path where the PDFs can be saved?

We are using Editor v 6.1 and supposedly handing off our xml files to another entity (also using Editor 6.1, Windchill, and the Publishing Engine). Having a similar issue knowing where to placing custom files in folders to reference when creating new xml files but find that putting them in the custom folder doesn't offer up the templates as options within the software - we still have to browse to choose the needed files. It would be incredibly beneficial to set up a default path to a folder where these custom file structures should be stored so that Abortext knows where to look for and find them.

Custom folders are used to install custom doctypes and scripts. The default custom folder is within the Arbortext folder inside "Program Files". This is not the recommended location for customisations. Instead you should set the APTCUSTOM environment variable to point to your actual custom folder location.

Yes, we placed the custom doctype sldd.dtd there as well as the .ent file and the custom stylesheet.I don't know what customisations refers to.

You can script the PDF process via ACL. There is reference information in the Arbortext Help Center. I don't believe the Arbortext UI allows for a default folder selection but would love to be proven wrong.
