It has been a long time since I have had to work with a bad imported IGES file and I need some guidance from the more experienced. I have a file sent to me in IGES format. I'm still trying to find out what package it came out of. When it imports it is a single import feature made of a surface quilt. The surface quilt will not create a solid since there are open areas (noted by yellow edges). I have tried the simple stuff such as zip gaps, trying different MaxGapDist values. I am down to a point where I have a geometry check giving me the following: The highlighted geometry contains discontinuities or other problems which are so great the Fix Boundaries functionality cannot automatically repair them.
I'm looking for some suggested techniques on how to proceed with fixing this problem. If anyone has some links to some good information on the PTC site or other sites I would appreciate those as well.
