Spur Gear design

Spur Gear design

Good afternoon people, Was wondering if any one can help with the design of Spur gears, or if they have the part modeled. I am looking for a 44mm OD and a PCD 38mm standar spur gear, I have been trying varioud methods but can not seem to create a proper mesh between 2 gears. Can any one help with the creation of this part in pro engineer. Thanks

RE: Involute Gears

Thanks for the pdf file, that was more of what I required. Thanks again.

RE: Involute Gears

That was a good gear tutorial thanks for posting it. Too bad I didnt have that two weeks ago when I was doing gears. Oh well I made it through.

RE: Involute Gears

I have been struggling with them for a little while now, on my university course. I did find some reference books with help, but I found them very difficult to apply to pro/engineer. I still have yet to design these spurs within pro/e but I am sure it will be an entertaining task.

RE: Pro-E Tips

Hi people, thanks for the help offered so far, I am still struggling to create a spur gear. Would any one be so kind as to create a spur gear to a set of diemension I give them? So I have a model I can look at and try to investigate how or where I am going wrong. Diemensions are as follows; PCD = 38MM OD = 44mm Module = 1 Thanks if any one can help me further with this. Jon
